@mattyglesias All democracies currently have a problem of the elderly dominating since they vote at high turnout. If we had Demeny voting(parents voting on behalf of their children) and mandatory voting I'm certain the overspending on the elderly would decrease.

We have mandatory voting here in Australia and you don’t need to show your ID (you just tell them your name and address). It works flawlessly. Voting should be mandatory in all democracies.
@TheGriftReport Mandatory voting is a hard NO from me. I have a right not to support any candidate, & the state has no right to force me to show up to tell them my opinion. Which I also have a right to keep secret, including from THEM.
